PROFILE OF OLARONGBE SHUAIB AGBOOLA Ph.D

Dr. Olarongbe Shuaib Agboola, was born on the 9th of August, 1979. He hails from Ilorin town in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.
He had his secondary education at Bishop Smith Memorial College, Ilorin between 1992 and 1997. He proceeded to Bayero University, Kano, between 2000 and 2004, where he bagged B.A. (Hons) Library Science. His quest for knowledge took him to the Premier University in Nigeria, University of Ibadan, where he obtained a Master Degree in 2011 and in 2017, he capped his academic sojourn with a Ph.D in Library and Information Science. An accomplished academic and professional administrator, Olarongbe is a member, National Association of Library and Information Science Educators (NALISE) and Nigerian Library Association (NLA).
The status attained by Dr. Olarongbe today, has to do with the working experience gained over the years. He started as Librarian II at Kwara State Public Library, Ilorin, between 2006 and 2008. In July 2008, he joined the services of the University of Ilorin as Graduate Assistant and rose to the rank of a Senior Lecturer in 2020. The tenacity and doggedness with which he delivers assignment with minimum supervision and high level of precision made the authority of the University of Ilorin to give him several appointments in the University which include, Sub-Dean, Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, Chairman, Faculty Students Disciplinary Committee, Departmental Assistant, Post Graduate Coordinator, and Member, University of Ilorin Technical Committee for the New E-Library Take-off, Faculty Admission Screening Committee, Faculty Students Dress Code Committee and Faculty Library Committee among others.
He has attended several seminars and conferences within and outside the country and has many journal articles to his credit.
Dr. Shuaib Olarongbe is happily married with children. He enjoys reading, watching documentary videos and playing football. His belief and philosophy are doing things the right way and does not compromise quality and standard.
