Our deep gratitude also goes to His Excellency for giving us the opportunity to render our services to Kwara State by appointing us to serve on the Governing Council of this great Institute. I must specially recognize your Excellency’s presence here today; it is indeed spirit lifting and heart-warning. However, with what we have seen within the period of Your Excellency’s administration, we can confidently say that hope is not lost. It is pertinent to appreciate the eminent personalities and leaders, spiritual and temporal, royal fathers, distinguished and honourable members of the national and state assemblies, captains of Industry, academics and indeed all friends and well-wishers of the Polytechnic who have been assisting us and who have decided, despite their tight schedules, to be here today for this important occasion. Distinguished guests, we are highly impressed and indebted to our resourceful and progressive Rector, Alhaji Mas’ud Elelu for his rugged and articulated approach in elevating the standard of academic and infrastructures in the Polytechnic, Mr. Rector, Kudos to you. It is worthy of note that the council shares the vision of the Polytechnic management in respect of science oriented courses that were accredited and introduced this academic session. Your Excellency, Distinguished guests, the Kwara State Polytechnic prides itself as one of the leading Polytechnics in the country in terms of number of accredited programmes. Much as we appreciate the fact that Government has many other commitments to attend to, I must emphasize that education is one of the major industries in Kwara State and so, no amount of money will be too much to ensure the success of the education sector. May I crave the indulgence of the eminent personalities at this event to congratulate all our graduands as well as their parents/guardians, families and well-wishers. I would like you graduands to take stock and assess yourselves in the light of the painstaking learning process that you have successfully undergone and get ready to soar in a highly competitive world. My dear graduands, I candidly advise that you should be ready to put into constructive use that qualitative educational instructions and skills garnered in the polytechnic, to the continued development of our dear country, especially in this period of economic recession. I urge you to tap from the abundant entrepreneurial skills gained in the polytechnic, to launch yourselves into self-reliance.
