ALH. MAS`UD ELELU APPOINTED AS CHAIRMAN OF COHEADS

In recognition of hard work, commitment, perseverance and good will to the development of Technical and Vocational Education in Nigeria, the Council of Heads of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria (COHEADS) unanimously appointed the Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Alh. Mas`ud Elelu as its new Chairman.
In a letter issued and signed by the Secretary of the Council, Rabiu Muhammed Danmalam stated that the appointment took effect from 14th April,2016.
It reads “The Council of Heads of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria (COHEADS) at its 133rd regular meeting held at Yaba College of Technology on 12th to 15th April,2016 confirmed your appointment as the new Chairman of the Council with effect from today 14th April,2016.
“Your appointment to head this body of high caliber personalities was due to your commitment, hard work, perseverance and good will to the development of Technical and Vocational Education in Nigeria.”
In his acceptance speech, Alh. Mas`ud Elelu disclosed that the appointment is a call to serve humanity and re-dedication of efforts to the development of Technological Education in the Country.
He noted that the relationship between the stakeholders and the Council will be more cordial to realise the set objectives of the founders of Technology in Nigeria.
The newly appointed Chairman also stressed that plan is on the way to appoint head for each zone for proper coordination and report back to Council during its quarterly meeting.
According to him, “This will speed up the work of the Council and ensure that issues affecting them will be properly addressed.” Elelu identified training and capital projects as some of the areas where Kwara State Polytechnic will be benefiting from his new status.
He thanked the Council for finding him worthy to head such body of high caliber personalities. Elelu tenure as Chairman of COHEADS expires when he leaves the rectorship post.
